Doin' Us Proud!
The officers and members of Flipper Chapel's Lay Organization wishes to convey their collective congratulations to Flipper's Youth Lay Director, Sis. China Evans, who ran unopposed and was duly elected as the Florida Conference Worship Leader for the Conference Year 2001-2002. Elections were held during the Conference Lay Meeting at New Bethel AME Church-Quincy (Rev. F. Jospehus Johnson, pastor) on last Sunday, July 29. Good wishes and praise are also extended for a campaign well-run by Flipper's Lay President, Sis. Beaulah Gregory, who vied for the coveted Conference President post and was narrowly defeated. God's continual blessings to both candidates whom undoubtedly represented Flipper Chapel with much grace, intellect, and humbleness.

My Country Tis' Of Thee
On Friday, August 9 at 7pm the Lay Organization will host its annual '50 States' program. Those persons who signed up to sponsor a state are asked to be on hand to help school those gathered on the botanical wonders of the particualr state(s) they were assigned. As this event is one of the Laity's major calendar fund-raisers, all participants are encouraged to turn in their monies for an official tally at that time. The Lay cordially invites all Flipperites, family and friends to be in attendence for what promises to be a very entertaining and informative evening, indeed. For more details, please see Bro. Oscar Lightfoot.
