In The Pulpit
Rev. Willie L. Merrick (Click for more info.) This month our pastor in the pulpit is Rev. Willie L. Merrick, pastor of Galilee AME Church. A relatively newly ordained minister, Rev. Merrick has been referred to as "a man who loves the Lord and wants to be in His will." He is totally "sold out" where the gospel is concerned. Please click on the name above and read more abou this energetic man of God. Our pulpit guests in April will include a host of local AME minsiters who will gather at Flipper for Sunrise Service on Easter Sunday as well as our very own Pastor Melvin Bell. |

Alas and Did My Savior Bleed!
Oh, how I love Jesus! Greetings and salutations to all of our readers. Tis the season to sit back and reflect on what happened that sorrowful day at Calvary. There our Savior Jesus Christ shed his blood for you and I. That one sacrifice possesses a depth of meaning so ominous it is almost incomprehensible…almost. Yet my friends, true believers understand. The crucifixion and His subsequent rebirth and ascendancy into Heaven are two of the most powerful caveats of the Christian faith. Remember, Jesus died for our sins. Let us hear that one more time......Jesus died for OUR sins! In this modern-day world of mass-diversion, many have come to look upon that distant act as 'one for the history books'. That is, an event that occurred eons ago that did not directly pertain to those living today. But, my friends, when Jesus allowed himself to be nailed to that Cross He was not just thinking of those among the living in his day. No, his mindset was far more omnipresent. Jesus died for those who had come before and we who came, and will come, after as well! So, as we enter the Easter Season, when next you ponder on Calvary, realize...despite the fact that the crucifixion was held sometime during the year 32AD., you who are among the living in 2001AD were most certainly 'in the mix'.
