WHEW!!!
That one word about sums it up. You know, the feeling of relief comes after a grueling task has been completed?
This has been a busy conference year; convocations--episcopal and connectional, ministerial retreat, annual conferences, educational congresses--episcopal and local, general conference, connectional worship and evangelism seminar, Vacation Bible School and subsequent Wild Adventures excursion, Women's Conference, Fellowship Day, et. al.
And it all begins again in less than seven days. Nevertheless, I rejoice that God has enabled us to meet obligations required of us and thank Him for what he has done here at Flipper--creation of a website, 19 accessions (4th quarter), zero indebtedness, established new ministries--Step Team, Inspirational Dance--just to name a few. And it does not yet appear what new thing the Lord will do in the days to come.
I continue to thank God for the saints at Flipper who are moving from church membership to Christian discipleship. It is always inspriring for pastors to see members who understand that God has a claim on their lives and time that goes beyond the minimal periodic morning worship and "dues" paying. My prayer is that we become better stewards of what the Lord has committed unto us.
Finally, thank you for the spirit of cooperation that you have shown in working with your pastor and each other this conference year. May that spirit continue to grow so that the work of God may flouris in this part of his vineyard.
Yours in Christ,
Pastor Bell
