A Moment Of Prayer
A Poem of Reflection

Dear God are you listening, I sure hope you're there
All I need is a moment to open up in prayer
Now you know my life's been messy, and problems still dance
But just when I think it's over, I'm given another chance
I journey a different direction, thankful for anew
But I often overlook, all praise unto You
And for this my Friend I'm sorry, I hope You're still there
'Cause I may not have another chance, to come to You in prayer...
With this life You've given me, it hasn't been with ease
I've stumbled even faultered, and I would never believe
In You as my Creator, my protector from all
But even with my ignorance, you never let me fall
And with a mind state so rebellious, seeing beauty in hate
heading for self-destruction, when you allowed me to escape
Still I remained self-centered, abusing any love
I never called upon You, however, You gave me a lil' shove
Even then I remained blind, thinking I could handle what's next
But I almost lost my life, and You pulled me to your chest...
Now after all I've been through, with these eyes I see
Your unlimited forgiveness, and pure love for me
Regardless of my wrong, my failure then to awake
You guided me the way, on which road to take
Showing me all along, I had someone that cared
And I honestly thank You...in this moment or prayer.
