The Dream Continues

Workshop
The 15th Observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. National Holiday will be celebrated in here in Tallahassee on Monday, January 15th with due reverance and much celebration. The NAACP will be sponsoring several events throughout the day which include:
  • 10:00am--C.K. Steele Commemorative Celebration. C.K. Steele Plaze. Christopher Shorte will preside and reflections shall be given by Clifford, Derek, and Daryl Steele.
  • 10:30--Freedom March to Capital Plaza (Duval Side).
  • 11:00am--Citywide Commemmorative Celebration. Featuring WTXL-27 Newscaster Tammy Fields.
  • 2:00pm--Day of Dialogue 2001 (City Hall-Commission Chambers) held by the Mayor's Initiative on Race Relations. Registration for this event will begin at 1:30 and door prizes will be given to 150 attendees. Contact (850)891-8290
  • 6:30pm--NAACP Youth/ACT-SO MLK Commemmorative Banquet. Bethel AME Church Fellowship Hall. Featuring inspirational speaker Vera l. McIntrye and Gwen Wilcox, ACT-SO vocalist. Tickets: \$15.00 adults, $10.00 youth.For more info regarding this event contact Loretta Cooper at (850)656-4612.
