Changing Faces

ChangingFaceOfAIDS "Welcome to the changing face of AIDS", such reads the caption of this image posted on the official website of the National Minority AIDS Council. Recently the State of Florida issued new statistics detailing the alarming increase in the number of HIV/PWA cases in the African American Community. Indeed, sadly North Florida has the highest number of minority HIV/PWA cases in the state, with Tallahassee/Leon County in the top ten. In an effort to raise awareness of the increasing danger, Flipper Chapel will play host to a special World AIDS Day program in association with SHISA, Inc--a local AIDS awareness community-activist group. We certainly hope that you will earmark your calendars and make plans to attend this singularly important event and find out how we all might stop the progression of AIDS in our own community. For more information contact Tammy Bryant at (850)656-2437.
